Here we have a 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible LT-1 for sale. This car is true LT-1 Corvette that comes with original order sheet and the NCRS Shipping Data Report. There were only 1,741 LT-1's built for the '72 model year of which it's believe around 400 were convertible. The one we have features the matching numbers engine and is a stunning example.
We will start off with the exterior of this Corvette. It's been redone in the factory color scheme that features the White Convertible Soft Top and comes with the removable hard top. The body on this '72 is exceptional with excellent fit of all the panels. It shows no signs of abuse and is showcased by the Base Coat Clear Coat Red paint that has a mirror finish and is slick as ribbon. The red is accented by the LT-1 hood and stripes along with having the rocker molding download. All the trim is beautiful on it and both the front and rear bumpers have a brilliant finish. The hidden headlights and hidden wipers are all working as they should. All the glass is in exceptional condition along with all the seals and weather stripping. To finish off the look it's sitting on the 15 inch Vette Wheels with the Sun Belt White Line Tires.
Next, we will look at the interior of this Convertible. On the inside it features the correct Mille Miglia Red Color scheme with bucket seats and console that houses the Four Speed Shifter. We can see that the door panels are both like new along with all the carpet up front and in the storage area. The seats look to have been redone at the time of the restoration and feature the correct seat belts. You'll notice the console is all in great condition and that it has the Astro ventilation controls. The factory gauges are in great condition along with the factory style radio. Looking at the dash we can see that the storage bags and dash pad is all like new. The speedometer and tach are in great condition and are working along with the rest of the gauges. This Vette has the custom grip wheel, and you'll also notice new visors were installed at the time of the restoration.
Finally, we will get to the heartbeat of this Chevrolet. Under the hood it sports the same attention to detail as what the rest of the restoration displays. The firewall and inner fenders are all in excellent condition. The power comes from the Matching Numbers LT-1 350 engine. It's set up with the factory Winters intake and 2nd Week of September 1971 Holley 780 Carb List 6239. This 350 is dressed in the factory style aluminum valve covers and has the chrome air cleaner with the 350 call out. It's dressed out in the factory style GM hoses with the tower clamps. This Corvette comes equipped with Power Steering along with Power Brakes with Disc on all four corners. For exhaust it has the 3932461 Casted Manifolds that flow out through the new dual pipes and mufflers that exit out the back. The LT-1 350 engine is mated to the Matching Numbers Four Speed Transmission and the correct AC coded rear end that features the 4.11 Gears. When we look under this Corvette there's no denying that it has been extremely well cared for over the years. The floors all look to be original and exceptional condition. The frame is equally impressive and is all rock solid. We can see that all the suspension has been redone as it has ball joints, bushings, end link bushings and new bushings out back along with a new leaf spring. |
